15 Nov Power outage planned for Lynchburg area
Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) has scheduled a six-hour planned voltage conversion for members living in the Lynchburg area on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
The conversion, scheduled from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m., will result in a power outage and is necessary to convert from one voltage to another.
“We pride ourselves on providing reliable electric service,” said Area Manager Eugene Cartwright. “This work to upgrade and maintain our facilities helps ensure the light always comes on whenever you flip that switch.”
This outage will affect approximately 180 DREMC consumer-members in the southern portion of Moore County. Members living in the communities of Lois, Hurdlow, Edde Bend, Liberty Hill, Sullenger’s Bend, Preston Ridge, Wet Prong and Dry Prong will be impacted by this scheduled outage.
DREMC appreciates the cooperation and understanding of its members during this conversion.
In the event of inclement weather, it will be rescheduled for November 21, 2019.
