DREMC contractor to perform utility pole attachment audit

Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) has contracted Osmose Utility Services to perform utility pole attachment inspections throughout the DREMC service area beginning Nov. 13.

The inspection process will involve evaluating every pole attachment on the DREMC system and is expected to last until early summer 2024. The following is an anticipated schedule and will vary based on a number of factors, including weather.

The updated schedule for completing pole inspections across the DREMC service area is as follows:

Sewanee: Nov. 13 – 25 (COMPLETED)
Decherd: Nov. 25 – early January (COMPLETED)
Manchester: Februaryearly March

Shelbyville: February – early April
Lynchburg: April
Chapel Hill: April
Lewisburg: April – May
Columbia: May – June

Osmose vehicles will display a “DREMC Contractor” magnet, and personnel will have identification badges. Close access to utility poles is necessary to complete the pole inspections and may require Osmose personnel to be on private property. These inspections will take place Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends as needed.
