06 Nov DREMC contractor to perform utility pole audit
Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) has contracted Osmose Utility Services to perform utility pole inspections throughout the DREMC service area beginning Nov. 13.
The inspection process will involve evaluating every pole on the DREMC system and is expected to last until early summer 2024. The following is an anticipated schedule and will vary based on a number of factors, including weather.
The schedule for completing pole inspections across the DREMC service area is as follows:
Sewanee: Nov. 13 – 25
Decherd: Nov. 25 – early January
Manchester: January – mid-February
Shelbyville: February – mid-March
Lynchburg: March – early April
Chapel Hill: April
Lewisburg: April – May
Columbia: May – June
Osmose vehicles will display a “DREMC Contractor” magnet, and personnel will have identification badges. Close access to utility poles is necessary to complete the pole inspections and may require Osmose personnel to be on private property. These inspections will take place Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends as needed.
