OUTAGE UPDATE: Progress made ahead of potential storms Monday evening

OUTAGE UPDATE: DREMC crews have made much progress overnight and throughout the day with power restoration to 16,000 members following Sunday’s severe storm.

“Employees have worked tirelessly for nearly 24 hours to ensure member and employee safety while making repairs as quickly as possible,” says DREMC President & CEO Scott Spence.

Monday’s improved weather conditions and assistance from other crews aided in restoration efforts. However, as more bad weather begins moving into the DREMC service area this afternoon, conditions could bring more system damages resulting in outages and hindering restoration to those already affected by Sunday’s powerful storm.

“Much like surrounding utilities across the middle of the state, DREMC was hit hard by this weather. We are all in this together, working as hard as we can to restore as much service as we can.”

The largest number of outages are located in hardest-hit Maury County, but scattered, isolated outages are also being repaired across DREMC’s service area.

DREMC’s outage management system helps safely deploy crews in an orderly manner based on the latest information from the automated meter technology. Power outage maps can be seen at http://outagemap.dremc.com:8182/.

DREMC appreciates your patience as our employees in the field and behind the scenes work to answer every call as quickly as possible, in spite of hazardous weather conditions to care for members.
