Technical server, processing error caused double draft payments

Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) worked quickly to resolve technical server and payment processing system issues, which recently caused some members’ auto-draft accounts to be processed twice from January 2 to 5.

Upon being notified of the auto-draft discrepancies, DREMC has verified that the double drafts affected approximately 2,300 member accounts enrolled in auto draft via their checking or savings accounts. The error affected only those payments drafted between January 2 and 5.

“Transparency and trust are cornerstones of our relationship with Duck River members,” said James Wright, president and CEO of DREMC. “We take these matters seriously and are committed to correcting all issues.

Wright adds that the issue appears to be an isolated case. He further stated that, although the double draft issue is beyond the cooperative’s control, DREMC will continue investigating and working with the financial institution to resolve the issue, reversing one of the two drafted payment amounts.

DREMC remains committed to the accuracy and timeliness of all transactions handled by the cooperative and our employees.

“Our goal is to serve our members with integrity, and we appreciate your continued trust,” said Wright.
