26 January, 2026 Winter Storm Fern: Important Message To Our Members Still Without Power
As you all know, our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to our members. As of today, approximately 360 people are engaged in restoration efforts, including lineworkers, construction contractors, right‑of‑way crews, engineers, and internal staff. We have additional vehicles in service, including seven track machines to reach remote areas, and every feasible resource is being utilized to make the necessary repairs.
Due to the extent of the damage and ongoing hazardous conditions, restoration timelines remain difficult to predict. We are mindful that tonight’s forecast includes very low temperatures and multiple cold‑weather advisories. Although crews are working continuously, we want to provide guidance now that may help members make informed plans before temperatures begin to drop.
To members still without power: At this point, it is best to plan as though restoration may take additional time — potentially a day or more. While progress has exceeded our expectations so far, nothing is guaranteed, and we do not want anyone to be caught in an unsafe situation. With the cold temperatures expected tonight, if you believe you may need to relocate temporarily, please make the decision that is best for your household’s warmth and safety.
To members with medical concerns: Your health and safety are our priority. Given this information, you may wish to consider any back‑up plan you have for managing medical needs or relocate to a location where power is available. If your situation becomes an emergency, call 911 immediately.
We remain optimistic about continued progress, but we want everyone to fully understand the conditions we are facing. Please make the best decisions you can for yourself and your family. Resources for shelters and warming centers are available on this website. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
